Lied the Way Workshop Participants
This year marks an exciting evolution for Lied the Way as it grows into a full-fledged Song Festival—an initiative dedicated to championing the art of song performance through community engagement, artistic collaboration, and public celebration. Our mission with this festival is to uplift and support this cherished art form in a meaningful, visible way while providing a vital platform for emerging female song performers to develop, experiment, and shine.
Throughout the week of the festival, participants engage in intensive workshops, rehearsals, and mentorship opportunities led by accomplished artists and educators. This collaborative, nurturing environment not only enhances their technical and interpretive skills but also fosters deep artistic connections and a sense of empowerment. We believe strongly in the transformative power of creating spaces where women feel seen, heard, and fully supported—and this festival is a testament to that belief.
The festival culminates in our final concert, a vibrant celebration of all that has been cultivated during the week. This public performance showcases the remarkable talent, dedication, and potential of the twelve duos who have immersed themselves in the artistic process. Audiences will witness firsthand the power of what can emerge when women are encouraged to explore their artistry in a space of affirmation and respect.
Last year’s culminating recital left a lasting impression, with one London-based audience member remarking that it was “better than anything I have heard at Wigmore Hall.” Such praise underscores the exceptional quality and emotional resonance of what our performers bring to the stage. This year, with twenty-four outstanding women sharing their voices and stories through song, we expect nothing less than an unforgettable evening of music, connection, and inspiration.
Join us as we celebrate the next generation of female song interpreters. You won’t want to miss this extraordinary gathering of talent, spirit, and song.
